Workshop We4Us 2025

As global challenges grow in complexity – from public health and climate change to the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and space technologies – the integration of physics with data science and computational methods is becoming increasingly vital. These interdisciplinary approaches are reshaping how we model, understand, and respond to systems that affect our everyday lives.

The 2025 workshop edition program spans a diverse set of themes, including natural language processing and large language models, computational epidemiology, space engineering, and contemporary topics in theoretical and high-energy physics. The workshop emphasizes both fundamental scientific questions and their practical applications, reflecting the growing importance of data-driven approaches across domains.

A dedicated session on LucrezIA, the University of Padua’s initiative on artificial intelligence and its ethical and societal dimensions, will provide participants with the opportunity to engage directly in structured group work and discussion. This component is designed to encourage reflection and exchange on how emerging AI technologies can be developed and applied responsibly within scientific and societal contexts.

This workshop invites participants to engage with pressing scientific and technological questions through the lens of data and physics, while contributing to a broader dialogue about their role in shaping the future.

Organizers: Samir Suweis, Andrea Triossi, Michele Allegra, Jacopo Pazzini, Chiara Poletto, Marco Baiesi, Tiziano Zingales, Ilaria Siloi, Luigi Belli, Sofia Di Lucia, Riccardo Lui, Hooman Sabzi, Filippo Bezzi, Sandra Elsa Sanjai, Arina Ponomareva, Giacomo Gasparotto, Giacomo Longaroni, William Conte, Lorenzo Vigorelli, Edoardo D’Amore
