Workshop We4Us 2026

We are living through a profound transformation: Machine Learning is rapidly becoming part of how we explore science, tackle complex problems, and interpret the world around us, and understanding these techniques opens up a remarkable range of possibilities for the physicists of tomorrow. The Physics of Data Workshop 2026 will take place from September 24 to 26 at the Asiago Astronomical Observatory, one of Italy’s most historic sites for astronomical research and home to some of the largest optical telescopes in the country, set against the natural backdrop of the Asiago plateau. This setting offers a fitting environment for a few days dedicated to reflection, discovery, and exchange, bringing together researchers and practitioners who are actively shaping the landscape of physics and data science and exploring how their integration is opening entirely new frontiers. Our guest speakers will cover a wide range of topics, from foundational theory to real-world applications, from astronomy to biology, sharing both their expertise and the questions that continue to drive their research forward. Beyond the talks, this workshop is designed as a space for genuine exchange: a chance to ask questions, spark debates, and connect with fellow participants, building both the knowledge and the relationships that will shape your professional path ahead. Funded and supported by the University of Padova, accommodation in Asiago will be covered for all participants; please note that places are limited and participation is strictly reserved for first-year Master’s students of Physics of Data.
